EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of the scientific sessions the participants should be able to:
- Compare NaF PET bone scan imaging to conventional bone scan imaging.
- Review normal biodistribution of FDG, and physiologic variants.
- Compare the accuracy of PET/CT with SPECT and SPECT/CT.
- To understand the role of PET with various tracers in prostate cancer.
- The role of FDG and PET/CT in imaging atheroma.
- The advantages of PET/CT gated myocardial perfusion imaging.
- Introduce the concept of global metabolic burden in assessing the overall disease activity in malignant and benign disorders
- Describe the need for developing new techniques in assessing the presence and extent of infections & inflammatory processes.
- Learn how FDG PET/CT can contribute to the assessment of therapeutic response in patients with cancer.
